MarchingWiki Help - Editing Articles
Creating an Article
Before creating any page on MarchingWiki, you should search for it first to make sure it hasn't already been created. To create an article once you are logged in, click the Contribute link from the user menu at the top right. Then click the Write an article link. From here you will enter some preliminary information about the article and it will be added to the database if it isn't already created. Once that's completed, use MarchingWiki's editing tools (simply click the Edit link in the page's top menu) to write the article. Your changes will occur immediately upon submission.

Article Text Editor
MarchingWiki uses the TinyMCE editor for article text which allows easy formatting, addition of pictures, etc. It works like a standard word processor but you might want to look at some other articles to see how to place pictures. Just have a look around the image dialogue box and you should have no problem getting the look you want.

Redirection You can redirect articles to other articles using this tool. Reasons for redirecting might include:
  • Common misspellings (Drum Core to Drum Corps)
  • Other typing errors such as capitalization (Marching Band to Marching band)
  • Abbreviations (WGI to Winter Guard International)
  • Specific/brief topics that should be included in a larger article
Uploading Images
To upload images for use in your article, click the Upload Image link at the bottom of the Edit page. More specific instructions on how to use them can be found on that page.

Article Categories
In order to make your article more easily available, you should add it to a category using the Manage Categories link at the bottom of the Edit page. From here you can add, edit, or delete categories from the article. When you add an article to a category it will show up when users browse to that category in the Browse-Articles page. Categories also help organize the articles on MarchingWiki into manageable sets of information.
